Plan your summer holidays 2027 somewhere almost nobody goes: Sao Tome and Principe, with a private guide and 4x4 just for your group. We are a local operator based in Sao Tome, so the team that meets you at the airport looks after you until the last day. In 8 days you see the coffee and cocoa plantations, the beaches of the south and the Rolas islet on the Equator.
The European summer is the gravana here: the dry season from June to September, with less rain and milder temperatures. Humpback whales pass the islands from July to October.

Price and getting there

Itinerary
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival in Sao Tome and welcome dinner at the plantation
Your guide meets you at Sao Tome airport (flight not included) and drives you to Roça Santa Luzia, an old plantation surrounded by rainforest, helping you change money and buy a SIM card on the way. Welcome dinner at the roça.
Day 2
Coffee Route: Monte Café, Almada Negreiros and Cascata Milagrosa
Up to the centre of the island, where coffee began at 800 metres. Roça Monte Café and its museum (€3), a walk to the Cascata Milagrosa and lunch included at the Almada Negreiros museum restaurant. Dinner and overnight at Roça Santa Luzia.
Day 3
Cocoa Route: Lagoa Azul and Roça Agostinho Neto
A day in the north, once known as the Chocolate Island: a cocoa cooperative (€4), the baobab route to Anambó, the Santa Catarina tunnel and a swim at Lagoa Azul. Lunch at your own expense and Roça Agostinho Neto. Dinner and overnight at Roça Santa Luzia.
Day 4
South: Boca do Inferno and Pico Cão Grande
Move south along the Tropical Route: the open-air laundry on the Abade river, Roça Água Izé and the Boca do Inferno blowhole. Lunch at your own expense. In the afternoon, the Pico Cão Grande viewpoint. Dinner and overnight at Ecolodge Praia Inhame.
Day 5
Rolas islet: one foot in each hemisphere
Boat to the Rolas islet and its Equator landmark. Grilled fish lunch included and free time on the beaches. Dinner and overnight at Ecolodge Praia Inhame.
Day 6
Free day at Praia Piscina
No schedule today: near-empty beaches within walking distance, such as Praia Piscina and its natural rock pools. Lunch at your own expense. Dinner and overnight at Ecolodge Praia Inhame.
Day 7
Lunch with chef João Carlos Silva and a night in the city
Back north via the Cauê river viewpoint and the Ribeira Peixe waterfall. Tasting lunch at chef João Carlos Silva’s roça in São João dos Angolares. Overnight at Hotel Omali or Pestana Miramar. Dinner at your own expense.
Day 8
Sao Tome city and airport transfer
São Sebastião Fort and museum, Independence Square, the cathedral and the markets, with a chocolate tasting. Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
