This day will be a real thrill ride. We'll cross the island to the south, also known as the Coconut Route or the Tropical Route, surely a day of many surprises as we get to know the southern side of the island, with highlights including incredible visits to the largest laundry in the world, Roça Água Izé, Boca do Inferno and Pico do Cão grande. After breakfast we'll make our first stop at the largest laundry in the world. At the mouth of the Abade River, hundreds of women wash clothes by hand. An incredible moment back in time. We'll learn the story of a visionary from São Tomé who dignified this nation, leaving a priceless legacy to our society today and his vision of the world at Roça Água Izé. Afterwards, we'll drink coconut water at the Boca do Inferno Geological Heritage Site, a must-see in these parts. Free lunch at a local restaurant. We continue our adventure with the opportunity to appreciate the grandiose forest and volcanic landscapes. Highlights include Pico do Cão-Grande and the Malanza River. Here we find the true meaning of Paradise. Reception at the Inhame Eco Resort. Accommodation at the Ecolodge Inhame. Hotel Inhame is the only hotel in the south with the minimum comfort requirements. It is an eco-resort set in nature that respects the ecosystem. There is no hairdryer in this hotel. And hot water in the shower only from 18h00 to 21h00. Take it easy, don't jump to conclusions. Live the experience bearing in mind that the bungalows are simple, but they are 20 metres from a sea with 27, 28, 29 degree waters.
Free day to relax in this paradise with breakfast included. We highly recommend a short 1 kilometre walk to one of the most idyllic spots on the island to discover the famous Pool Beach. We recommend leaving at 9am. You'll start by exploring the region of coconut empires and organic farming such as manioc, yams, Mata Bala, bananas and even vanilla. A morning dedicated to relaxing in these areas and/or at the Inhame eco-resort.
Yes! Paradise and Marco do Equador. Pinch yourself!!!!! Yes. Go to the Rolas Islet. After breakfast, we take the boat across to Ilhéu das Rolas. Once again... at the island's light pace, we head a little further south under the tepid waters of the Gulf of Guinea until we reach Ilhéu das Rolas. You can organise lunch locally at the local restaurant where they always prepare good fish and/or octopus. On the islet you will need a guide, who is not included, and the average price is 250 Dobras (10€). This day is dedicated to discovering the island. You'll have the chance to see both hemispheres of the earth, visit the Equator and have an optional lunch. At the appointed time... return to the Ecolodge Inhame hotel.
Free day to relax in this paradise. Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional lunch at Roça com os Tachos. We start our journey back to the capital with stops at other tourist attractions. This day's highlight is the Mirador do Rio Cauê. In one of the fascinating places on this route, we go to a hidden beach. Here we find a mirror of water reflecting the imposing Pico do Cão Grande. It's time for one last dip on the big beach. Very close by and crossing the grandiose palm plantation, we find the Mióba waterfall or Ribeira Peixe waterfall near the fishing beach. A photographic moment in an unforgettable setting. After lunch, we crossed the city of Angolares to arrive at the Roça of chef João Carlos Silva, the famous chef/cook from the programme Na Roça com os Tachos. Get ready for a festival of flavours at this delicious gourmet lunch, not included. Continue to the city. Accommodation.
Magical Deep North and Blue Lagoon. In the past, São Tomé was recognised worldwide as the Chocolate Island. Today we cross extensive fields of plantations and cultivation, including sugar cane, to get to the sweetest and most unique flavour of São Tomé's cocoa beans. We followed the route of the Embondeiros, known in Africa as Baobabs. But since everything is even more beautiful and magical here in São Tomé, they have been given the name Micondó. Prepare your heart because we're going to see Roças, beaches and idyllic landscapes, so hold your heart. Breakfast at the hotel. We'll cross the village of Guadalupe until we reach the district of Lembá. Here we'll see falcons watching over the coast. Our tour takes us to Anambó, the mythical place where the navigators João de Santarém and Pêro Escobar landed on 21 December 1470 (St Thomas's Day) at the behest of King Afonso V of Portugal to explore the west coast of Africa. Here you can admire the Padrão do Descobrimento, erected at the behest of the ruling authorities to mark the arrival of the Portuguese navigators in São Tomé. We continue on to the Legendary Most Beautiful Road in the World with an obligatory stop at the Santa Catarina Tunnel. We return with a stop at the incredible blue lagoon with free time to enjoy this moment. We continue on to Praia dos Tamarindos for a refreshing swim before an optional lunch. In the afternoon we visit the village of Morro Peixe and the famous Roça Agostinho Neto. Return to the hotel. Dinner at leisure.
Just when you think it's all over... you're surprised to discover the centre of the island. It's the greenest part of São Tomé and it was here that the first coffee plantations began at an altitude of 800 metres, just above the small town of Trindade. We'll visit the town, the market and do some chocolate tasting. A highlight is the Roça de Monte Café, the only plantation on the island that grows the arabica variety and where you can see all the stages of processing the bean. Pass by the São Nicolau Waterfall. POSSIBILITY OF A BREAKFAST LUNCH NOT INCLUDED at the Almada Negreiros Museum Restaurant. Return to the city for a chocolate tasting at Casa Diogo Vaz. Transfer to the airport at the scheduled time. End of trip and our services.

São Tomé and Príncipe is an incredible destination that offers unique experiences all year round, making it an ideal place to visit in any season.
For those who love the tropical climate, this country, being close to the equator, maintains an average temperature of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The constant climate is perfect for beach lovers, and you'll always find a sunny spot to relax by the sea.
The rainy season, from October to May, offers spectacular scenery. The rains revitalise the vegetation and make the forests even more lush. This is also the best time for birdwatchers, as many species are active during this period. And don't worry, the rains are usually short and intense, leaving plenty of room for the sun to shine.
On the other hand, the dry season, which runs from June to September, is ideal for adventurers. Trails and hikes are more accessible and the days are generally longer, giving you more time to explore the beautiful landscape.
If you're looking for local culture and traditions, then any time of year is ideal for your visit. Festivals and cultural events take place throughout the year, such as the São Tomé Music Festival in July and Independence Day in July.
So whatever month you choose, your trip to São Tomé and Príncipe will be full of memorable experiences. This country's charms are not limited to one season or time of year, making it a perfect destination in any season.
São Tomé and Príncipe is a fantastic and safe option for those wishing to explore Africa. This charming island country is known for its quiet and friendly atmosphere, providing a peaceful and relaxing travelling experience.
Security is a priority in São Tomé and Príncipe, and the country has one of the lowest crime rates in Africa. The people are warm and welcoming, and tourists generally report feeling safe when exploring the cities and countryside. Of course, as anywhere, it is recommended that travellers maintain a general awareness of their safety and take care of their belongings.
The healthcare system in São Tomé and Príncipe is adequate, and there are a good number of doctors and clinics available. The main cities have hospitals and, in the event of an emergency, there are procedures for medical evacuation. Visitors are advised to take out travel insurance and have their vaccinations up to date.
